I almost gave up when our first product didn't make any sales for 9 months.

In 2011, we launched the first product of RChilli Inc. for $49. We tried all sorts of Gorilla techniques but to no avail.

As the months went by and we still had no sales, the feeling of worthlessness and failure began to settle.

I wanted to give up, but I was a leader, and my decisions would affect many people, so I went to my mentor and his feedback stumped me.

He made me realize that all along, I was the problem.

Not the market, not the product, but me.

It was my mindset that was limiting my growth and the sales of our company.

That’s when I decided to analyze my product and our strategy which brought light to two things:

1. Through my discussion with one of the founders of an elite IT company, I realized my pricing strategy was wrong. We created a new package worth $1000 with a 6 months money back guarantee, which started attracting customers.

2. I realized that I needed more knowledge in sales and started my training in Boston for B2B Sales.

Results?

In three months, we scaled 67 sales and had tons of positive customer feedback, which boosted our confidence.

This incident made me realize the importance of having a mentor who understands your strengths and gives candid feedback.

Do you have a mentor?
