Generating ideas is not important, generating quality ideas is. If the quality of your idea is good, execution becomes much easier.

Here's how you can improve the quality of your idea by asking yourself these 8 questions:

👉 Is this an opinion or a fact?

Many people mistake opinions for facts. It's important to know the difference.

👉 Where did this opinion come from?

Most of our opinions are spoon-fed by the media. We place too much faith in monolithic sources.

👉 Am I consuming useful information?

24-hour news and social media availability have created a never-ending stream of content. But the content that we are consuming is valuable?

👉 What's the opposing argument?

If you haven't considered a different view of your opinion, you can't properly gauge your own.

👉 Could I be wrong?

Nobody wants to be wrong. But the possibility of being wrong can open a door to more objective insight.

👉 Would I be proud to explain this in public?

This will show you how much really you trust your opinion. If it makes you squirm, you probably have ill-formed ideas.

👉 Can I write it down?

Writing doesn't just capture your thinking but also brings you clarity.

👉 What does my gut say?

Our instincts are almost always right but sometimes we might confuse our biases with instinct.

What more questions would you add?
